Geelong newborn photographer on why in-home sessions are ideal for new parents.

This session was particularly special. It was the last for 2022 (on New Year’s Eve!) and taken at Laura’s family beach house where she spent summers as a teenager. Now, she was making new memories in the space with her own family.

When you first bring your newborn home, the days slip past in a blur of nappy changes, late night feeds, cuddles, loads of laundry and peanut butter toast. Hours can go by and you haven’t left the couch, where you can find yourself nap-trapped or cluster feeding.

All the things that make life with a new baby challenging are the same things that make it overwhelmingly beautiful. The early weeks go by so quickly, which is why it’s important to preserve those memories.

For newborn sessions, I come to you so you can be in the place you feel most comfortable - at home.

We don’t need much to have a beautiful photo shoot - just a window or two with plenty of light and we can capture some magic.

You’ll have plenty of time for nappy changes, feeding and outfit changes. We go at your baby’s pace, so if they need resettling and extra cuddles there’s no hurry.

You don’t need to tidy the whole house. We’ll focus on one or two rooms with natural light - and it’s amazing how we can transform a space with a couple of strategically placed blankets.
